Dreamin’ of a White Bedroom

Something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now has been to paint my bedroom white. I’ve thought about it alot because I know it can either be a big success or a big fail. I’m also not sure exactly where to start. Yeah, with a paint brush, but what is the best white paint color for my four walls. You’d think that I can go to any local hardware store and just ask for white paint but of course I gotta make it more complicated than that.

I’ve found some white wall inspiration all over the internet but now that I might take the plunge I want you to help me find the best color for my bedroom. Do you have any tips when painting a room white and please tell me what your favorite white paint is. This is a DIY project so I only will have some have from an experienced person but really want to go out and buy everything myself prior to starting. I’d really love your opinion and tips and tricks so comment below. Also. my bedroom does have high ceiling on one side and I wanna make it feel as big as possible.

I love painting! For some reason I just find it very relaxing. I’m not a professional painter but I do a lot of painting for work. Someone recommended Sherwin-Williams pure white, a good choice, and I would recommend either their super paint or Cashmere interior. Also wait until at least a 30% off sale which they have pretty often but if you have a little bit more time and patiences wait until they have a 40% off sale. Otherwise bear interior marquee is a good paint too, Home Depot brand.

I would purchase my supplies at Home Depot as they are a little cheaper. You will want:
    – brush (for cutting in). The zebra 2″ angled sash (short handle) is my favorite brush.

    – roller and roller cover with a 3/8 nap

    – pan (you shouldn’t need a liner as long as you don’t let it sit when your done for the day)

Better quality is just fine. Home Depot has a value kit (better quality) which might be a good option for you. Don’t let the brush sit too long uncover. I personally caution on the side of rinsing the brush. If you don’t complete all your rolling in one day you can rap the roller in plastic to keep it nice and fresh.

I’m not sure if any of this was helpful or if it’s TMI but best of luck! Cheers

I too am dreaming of a white bedroom and am starting to paint it this weekend! I use straight out the can white- no tint. In an eggshell low voc. I like Behr- I’m in Canada, I don’t know how available that is if you’re in the US though. I started painting my home in bright accent colours when we moved in 8 years ago, but have found myself repaininting every room in the house to lighter and lighter shades because we get very little natural light in our space.

I’ve had all white and I’ve had lots of color. Now I have a tiny house with a completely white interior and I love adding spots of color for accent. It looks less cluttered and gives the illusion of a larger space. 😃 You will love it!

Purchase as many white samples as your budget allows and put samples on all four walls to see how the natural light , room lights and wall texture will showcase them leave them up for about a week and you will find your self drawing to one 😊 I also love all the inspirations ..
